Arte Pela Palestina Unveils Complete 2025 Program
The Arte Pela Palestina has announced the full schedule for its second edition in 2025, taking place from October 9 to 11 in Lisbon. This multidisciplinary cultural event features concerts, cinema, performances, theater, gastronomy, exhibitions, talks, and workshops spread across three days. Activities will be held at various venues, with the main hub at Casa do Comum, and partnerships with institutions like Estrela da Bica, Outra Cena, and Teatro do Bairro.
Soft Opening on October 8
The event kicks off on October 8 with a Soft Opening at the Auditório Camões and Casa do Comum (Floor 2). This prelude includes the first Portuguese screening of the film "All That's Left of You" (English subtitles), directed by Cherien Dabis, a Palestinian-American filmmaker known for works like "Only Murders in the Building." This highlight of contemporary Palestinian cinema will be re-screened on October 9, emphasizing the event's focus on quality, unseen films.
On the same day, the Auditório Camões hosts the contemporary dance performance "Amor em Tempos de Apartheid" by Palestinian choreographer Sharaf DarZaid, with live music by Maen El Ghoul. This 35-minute solo, followed by a discussion with the artist, explores emotional and political dilemmas of life under occupation, blending personal and universal themes.
Solidarity Art Auction and Key Highlights
A central initiative is the solidarity art auction, launching on October 8, with all proceeds supporting Palestine. Donations include works by renowned artists such as Akacorleone, Fernanda Fragateiro, and musicians like Cristina Branco and Luísa Sobral.

Context and Significance
The event occurs in a symbolic period, marking two years since the latest invasion of Gaza and shortly after Portugal's official recognition of the State of Palestine on September 21, the International Day of Peace. Arte Pela Palestina is more than a cultural gathering; it's a space for resistance, solidarity, and collective artistic creation, uniting art and activism.
