Lisbon is set to welcome a new cyclo-pedestrian bridge this Saturday, linking the city's central axis to its eastern areas. The inauguration will be led by Mayor Carlos Moedas, marking a significant step towards enhancing urban mobility.
The bridge spans the Avenida Almirante Gago Coutinho, offering a safer and more convenient route for pedestrians and cyclists to access Marvila, Olivais, and Parque das Nações. This project, which began in 2024, was made possible through community funding and represents a key development in Lisbon's infrastructure.
A unique feature of the bridge is its integrated garden, providing a green space for relaxation above the viaduct. This addition not only beautifies the area but also extends the adjacent green spaces, contributing to the city's environmental goals.
The ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 AM at the intersection of Rua Quinta da Graça and Avenida do Brasil, inviting the community to celebrate this new connection.
