The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) forecasts a slight increase in temperatures for Madeira this Sunday, August 10th, alongside periods of very cloudy skies.
Wind conditions are expected to be light to moderate (10 to 30 km/h) from the northeast, turning moderate to strong (30 to 50 km/h) from the southeast in highlands until late morning.
Temperature ranges will be between 23 and 31°C in Funchal and 21 to 26°C in Porto Santo. The Madeira archipelago is once again at risk of high ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure. The national meteorological service advises using UV-filter sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, and avoiding children's sun exposure.
Weather warnings have been issued: the south coast of Madeira is under a yellow alert for hot weather until Tuesday, with mountainous regions under an orange alert due to persistently high maximum temperatures.
Sea conditions include northeast waves of 1 to 1.5 meters, shifting to north waves on the north coast, and waves less than 1 meter on the south coast. Sea temperatures are expected to remain between 23 and 24°C.
