Infanta Sofia of Spain is set to embark on an exciting academic journey in Lisbon starting this September. The youngest daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia will pursue a degree in Political Science and International Relations at Forward College, an institution affiliated with the London School of Economics, with one of its campuses located in the Portuguese capital. The annual tuition fee for the course is reported to be 18,500€, as confirmed by the Zarzuela Palace.
The three-year program offers a unique opportunity to study in different European capitals each year. Sofia will spend her first year in Lisbon, followed by Paris and Berlin for the subsequent years. This innovative approach allows students to experience diverse cultures and academic environments throughout their studies.
Choosing the right institution was a thoughtful process for the young royal. According to El Mundo, Sofia spent several months applying to various universities, with the support of her parents. The proximity of these cities to Spain played a significant role in her decision, enabling her to balance her royal duties with her academic commitments.
Before her upcoming adventure in Lisbon, Sofia completed her International Baccalaureate at UWC Atlantic College in the UK, following in the footsteps of her older sister, Princess Leonor. Her tutor praised Sofia's journey, highlighting her "perseverance and remarkable personal growth," and described her as a "true friend in difficult times."
