Ten People Injured in a Bus Accident in Lisbon
On Friday, a Carris bus veered off course and crashed into a pole on Marquês da Fronteira street in Lisbon, resulting in ten injuries.
The alert was received at 5:53 PM. Lisbon Firefighters and INEM (National Institute of Medical Emergency) were dispatched to the scene.
According to Carris, they confirmed that their teams were present at the location.
"We confirm 10 minor injuries, who have already received assistance at the scene. Carris appreciates the swift response from firefighters, INEM, and security forces, with whom we maintain constant contact. As per standard procedure, Carris will initiate an internal investigation to determine the causes," the company stated.
The incident occurred in front of the Palácio da Justiça. Among the injured, seven were transported to São Francisco Xavier Hospital, two to São José Hospital, and one minor to Dona Estefânia Hospital.
The bus was operating on route 742, heading towards Madre de Deus.
