GNR Reports 693 Traffic Infractions in the Algarve
693 traffic offenses were detected by the GNR in the Algarve over the past week, according to data from the balance on preventing and combating violent crime, road enforcement, and other activities.
Breakdown of Offenses
Among these infractions, the GNR highlights:
- 382 for speeding
- 53 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection
- 24 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems
- 20 for lack of civil liability insurance
- 17 for improper use of mobile phones while driving
- 11 for lack or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems
Accident Statistics
Between October 13 and 19, there were 142 accidents recorded, resulting in 28 minor injuries, one fatality, and three serious injuries.
Arrests and Seizures
During this period, 57 individuals were arrested, including:
- 20 for driving without a legal license
- 13 for driving under the influence of alcohol
- 3 for drug trafficking
Additionally, the GNR seized 52 doses of hashish, a dagger, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone.
