Prime Minister's Statement on Transparency Obligations
This week, the Prime Minister submitted documentation to the Transparency Portal, revealing seven new clients of his former company, Spinumviva. During a press conference in the gardens of Palácio de São Bento, he expressed his disagreement with the law's requirement for such disclosures, stating, "I do not agree that the law obliges the disclosure of these elements under the conditions in which they were requested".
Compliance with Legal Obligations
Despite his reservations, the Prime Minister confirmed, "I fulfilled my obligations". He emphasized that he complied with the request from the regulatory body, even though he personally believed it was unnecessary. Montenegro proclaimed, "For me, it shouldn't be public at all", highlighting his stance on the matter.
Clarifications on State Contracts
When questioned about the profits these companies may have gained from state contracts and whether there was any interference from him, he firmly denied any insinuation of wrongdoing, stating, "I do not admit that insinuation from anyone". He clarified that the services rendered were minimal, amounting to only a few thousand euros, and that "the contracts these companies have with the State have never depended on me".

The Prime Minister's declarations follow his submission of a replacement declaration that lists seven new clients of Spinumviva during his tenure. These include:
- Grupo Joaquim Barros Rodrigues e Filhos
- ITAU
- Sogenave
- Portugalenses Transportes
- Beetsteel

These companies join previously known clients such as Lopes Barata, Colégio Luso-Internacional do Porto (CLIP), Solverde, and Cofina.
