Lisbon Metro has announced that the construction proposals for the Violet Line, connecting Odivelas to Loures, have exceeded €598.8 million. The four proposals, opened on July 15, are currently under analysis by the jury of the international public tender.

Project Scope and Timeline
The Violet Line will span 11.5 kilometers with 17 stations, featuring a mix of surface, underground, and trench stations. The project, part of Lisbon Metro's expansion plan, is slated for completion by 2029.
Background
This tender follows a previous one in March 2024, where all proposals were rejected for exceeding the base price by an average of 46%. The updated investment reflects a €150.2 million increase due to price adjustments since the preliminary study in 2023.
