The PSD leader today expressed feeling 'the responsibility of being the country's beacon,' with the opposition always looking back, and urged Portuguese citizens desiring stability to 'vote massively' for AD.
'11 months ago, we had a country out of control: we need more human resources, but no one wants this done without rules, in chaos,' he stated, arguing that his government 'established rules so those who come with good intentions can live a dignified life.'
On security, he criticized those who labeled him authoritarian or even 'Sheriff Montenegro.' 'That day, everything was wrong, but now no one wants to talk about security because they only had one thing to say: congratulations to the Government,' he pointed out.
The Prime Minister also paid special tribute to the people of Famalicão, 'land of hardworking people, who don’t live just counting on what the State gives or what is passed down through family,' in snap elections sparked by opposition doubts over the company founded by Luís Montenegro and later transferred to his children.
In Braga, the parliamentary leader and PSD secretary-general, Hugo Soares, is the head of the list. In 2024, AD elected eight of the 19 deputies from this district, followed by PS with six, Chega with four, and IL with one.
