Weather Forecast for Madeira This Friday

Clouds and a Drop in Temperature Expected

The weather forecast for this Friday in Madeira predicts a generally slightly cloudy sky, with increasing cloudiness on the North slope and in the highlands of Madeira Island.

Chance of Light Showers

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), there is a possibility of light showers on the North slope and in the highlands of Madeira Island from the afternoon.

Wind Conditions

The wind is expected to be light to moderate (10 to 30 km/h) from the North quadrant, sometimes blowing strong (up to 40 km/h) in the highlands and at the East and West ends of Madeira Island.

Temperature Drop

The forecasts also point to a drop in temperature, especially in the highlands of Madeira Island. Nevertheless, maximum temperatures should reach 27°C in Madeira and 26°C in Porto Santo. The minimum temperatures forecast are 21°C and 20°C, respectively.

Funchal Weather

For Funchal, the IPMA points to a generally slightly cloudy sky and light wind (less than 15 km/h). A small drop in temperature is also expected in the Madeiran capital.

Sea Conditions

As for the sea, expect Northwest waves, with 1 to 1.5 meters on the North coast. On the South coast, waves below 1 meter are expected. The sea water temperature will be around 22/23°C.
