Camilo Mortágua, a prominent anti-fascist revolutionary, passed away at the age of 90 in Alvito, the town he chose as his home. His life was marked by a series of significant actions against oppression, including the assault on the Santa Maria, the hijacking of a TAP plane, the robbery of the Bank of Portugal in Figueira da Foz, and the occupation of Torre Bela estate. Mortágua was also closely associated with the PREC (Ongoing Revolutionary Process). As he once stated, "For a fighter for freedom, nothing is worse than passivity and the constant postponement of new actions." His legacy continues to inspire those who value liberty and justice.
